More Than Styling

Design decisions set cost, usability and manufacturability

Industrial design is often mistaken for the surface treatment applied once the hard work is done. In hardware it is the opposite: form decisions determine internal volume, part count, assembly direction, tooling complexity and how quickly a user understands the product.

A design that looks resolved but ignores component stack-up, draft or service access is not a design — it is a rendering. We work the other way around, developing form against the real constraints of the electronics, the process and the price point.

The result is design intent that engineering can actually carry forward, and that manufacturing does not have to unpick.

What is included in industrial design?

When should industrial design begin?

Once you know roughly what the technology must do. Early enough to shape architecture, before engineering commits to a layout.

Can you work with our existing engineering team?

Yes. A large share of our work is design intent handed to an internal or contracted engineering group, with us staying available through detailing.

Can you design around existing electronics?

Yes. Fixed boards, sensor modules and connector positions are treated as constraints in the brief.

Do you create production CAD?

Yes, when engineering is part of the scope. If not, we deliver design intent in a form your engineers can take forward.

Can you redesign an existing product?

Yes, including refreshes that must preserve existing tooling, platforms or accessory compatibility.

Do you provide CMF development?

Yes — material, colour, texture and finish developed against the selected manufacturing process and volume.

Can you help create a product family?

Yes. Design language across families, generations and accessories is a specific strength, as on the Pathway and Acuity programs.

Do you work with startups?

Yes, and frequently. Early-stage hardware is where design decisions have the largest downstream cost effect.

Do you support manufacturing?
