Manufacturing & Supplier Support

Manufacturing & Supplier Support

A production-ready design still needs a production-ready supplier relationship.

We help carry design intent through quoting, supplier selection, tooling, sampling and early production — the stretch where most hardware programs lose quality or margin.

After Engineering

Design intent has to survive the handover

The transition into production is where a resolved design quietly becomes a different product: a substituted material, a reinterpreted tolerance, a finish nobody specified clearly enough.

We stay involved through quoting, tooling, sampling and early production so decisions made during development are the decisions the supplier actually builds to.

We support supplier sourcing and manufacturing rather than acting as purchaser of record. Where you need us managing purchasing directly, that is a separate, explicit arrangement.

What This Includes

Manufacturing support, section by section

01

Supplier Identification

Suppliers evaluated on process, product type, materials, volume, geography, quality, tooling capability, technical depth and communication.

  • Process
  • Materials
  • Volume
  • Geography
  • Quality
  • Tooling
  • Communication

02

Working With Your Existing Manufacturer

You do not have to abandon relationships that work. We work with your existing suppliers and contract manufacturers, suppliers we introduce, or suppliers selected jointly.

  • Existing suppliers
  • Contract manufacturers
  • Introduced suppliers
  • Joint selection

03

RFQ Support

A quote is only comparable if the brief was. We prepare supplier briefs and CAD/specification packages, then clarify and compare what comes back.

  • Supplier brief
  • CAD packages
  • Quote clarification
  • Comparison
  • Technical evaluation
  • Tooling review

04

Supplier Evaluation

Unit price alone is not a decision. Tooling, lead time, quality systems, communication, process capability, assembly and scalability all carry cost later.

  • Tooling
  • Lead time
  • Quality
  • Communication
  • Process capability
  • Scalability

05

Manufacturing Liaison

We remain available through supplier DFM review, tooling, sampling, production preparation, assembly and troubleshooting.

  • Supplier DFM review
  • Tooling
  • Sampling
  • Production prep
  • Assembly
  • Troubleshooting

06

Production Documentation

Production CAD, drawings, specifications, BOM information, finish requirements and assembly notes — the package a supplier can build from without guessing.

  • Production CAD
  • Drawings
  • Specifications
  • BOM
  • Finish requirements
  • Assembly notes

07

Tooling Support

Tooling review, supplier feedback reconciliation, design adjustments, sample review and tool changes through to production readiness.

  • Tooling review
  • Supplier feedback
  • Design adjustments
  • Sample review
  • Tool changes

08

Pilot Production

Pilot builds expose what prototypes cannot: assembly sequence problems, operator error, tool access, cosmetic defects and supplier interpretation.

  • Assembly sequence
  • Operator error
  • Tool access
  • Tolerance
  • Cosmetic defects
  • Packaging

09

First Article + Production Review

First production components evaluated against CAD, specification, fit, finish, function, assembly and original design intent.

  • CAD conformance
  • Specification
  • Fit
  • Finish
  • Function
  • Design intent

10

Production Refinement

Support continues after production starts — resolving supplier issues, improving assembly, reducing cost and refining process and quality.

  • Issue resolution
  • Assembly improvement
  • Cost reduction
  • Component changes
  • Process refinement
  • Quality

Terminology

Supplier sourcing and manufacturing support

We use the word procurement only where we are genuinely managing purchasing or supply transactions on your behalf. Everywhere else this is sourcing, evaluation and technical support.

What we do

Identify, evaluate and brief suppliers; review tooling and samples; support production.

What we document

Production CAD, drawings, specifications, BOM and finish requirements.

What we don't claim

We are not purchaser of record unless that service is explicitly agreed.

Where we stay

Available through pilot builds, first article and early production refinement.

FAQ

Manufacturing support questions

Can you work with our existing manufacturer?

Yes. We work with your existing suppliers and contract manufacturers, suppliers we introduce, or suppliers chosen jointly.

Do you handle purchasing for us?

Only where that is explicitly agreed. Our standard service is supplier sourcing and manufacturing support, not purchaser of record.

Do you source domestically or offshore?

Both. Geography is one evaluation criterion alongside process, quality, volume and communication.

Can you help if production has already started badly?

Yes. Production refinement, supplier issue resolution and assembly improvement are a normal part of this work.

What documentation do suppliers receive?

Production CAD, drawings, specifications, BOM information, finish requirements and assembly notes.

Do you attend supplier or factory reviews?

Where the program warrants it, yes — including tooling review, sampling and first article evaluation.

Let's Get Your Product Built Properly.

Whether you have a supplier already or need one found, we can carry the design through quoting, tooling and early production.
